On July 20th, CFMOTO inaugurated its first factory in Mexico in the Vynmsa Industrial Park in Apodaca, Nuevo León (northeast of Mexico). It marks a milestone for CFMOTO’s exploration in the North American market.

More than 100 guests, including government officials from Mexico, media representatives, experts, suppliers, and partners, attended the opening ceremony and witnessed the first UTV rolling off the production lines. They were impressed by the innovative, efficient, and advanced manufacturing facilities and CFMOTO’s research and development capability.

Evan Zhang, the general manager of CFMOTO Mexico, briefly introduced the factory. Started in March 2022 and completed in July 2023, the CFMOTO Mexican factory has a total area of 75,000 square meters with a total investment of 46 million USD. It includes two plants with an area of 37,000 square meters, covering welding, painting, and assembling. The annual capacity of the CFMOTO Mexico factory is 100,000 units, from UTV production to more models in the next few years. The factory has created more than 500 jobs in Apodaca.

Iván Rivas, Secretary of Economy of the Government of Nuevo León; César Garza Villarreal, Mayor of Apodaca; Maggie Alcantara, Director General for Global Investment at MoFA Mexico; and Minjie Lai, CEO of CFMOTO, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Jesús Seade Kuri, Ambassador of Mexico to the People’s Republic of China, congratulated the launch of the CFMOTO Mexico factory via video.

Lai expressed appreciation for the support the CFMOTO Mexican factory received from the local authorities. “Mexico is a country full of passion and opportunities. The hospitality from local people and its business environment impress me. Without the support of the Mexican government, our employees, and local partners, we would be unable to make this progress,” said Lai.

“Since this administration began in October 2021, we have introduced 148 investment projects so far, and 27% of them correspond to the automotive industry, one of the most dynamic industries in the world. In particular, 28 of these projects belong to companies from China. Congratulations to the CFMOTO Mexican factory. I’m looking forward to more cooperation with CFMOTO in the future,”

He also emphasized that the Mexican factory is a key to CFMOTO’s global growth strategy. “The Mexican factory represents a cornerstone of our vision to become a premium global powersports brand. The production at the factory will help CFMOTO significantly lower its cost, giving it more edge in the market competition and providing better service to our global customers. We will continue to work with local partners to explore the global market and promote a higher level of development,” said Lai.

CFMOTO always aims to higher goals to offer better, more advanced, and more fun products to the worldwide market. The production in Mexico is a major step in CFMOTO’s global push for a world-leading powerports company. Local production could help CFMOTO cater to the burgeoning demand of the American market and build on recent momentum for the company.
